This week during their library period, Class 103 listened as Ms.Andra read a book aloud. Then they read their own books to their stuffed animal "reading buddies!" Students that can't yet read still enjoy their books by doing a "picture walk" and telling their own stories! 📚
Connectemonos is hosting an open street family Halloween event called Trick or Streets on October 28th from 12:00-4:00pm!
4th grade students in STEAM lab learning how to build a Lego robot. Once these are built students will learn how to code and make the robot move! 🤖

The Armory is hosting an event on Sunday, October 29th for students and their families in grades 1-8 from the neighborhoods of Washington Heights, Inwood, and Harlem. Doors will open at 10:00am at the Armory track and field at 216 Fort Washington Ava, NY, NY 10032. Students learned about indigenous people in the library this past week, with Ms. Andra! They learned that Washington Heights is on land that belonged to the Mohican and Wappinger Nations, and that the islands of the Caribbean, including the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, are on land that belonged to the Taínos. Students in grades K-2 drew Taíno symbols and created stories with them, while students in grades 3-5 had fun painting their own rocks with Taíno symbols. Be sure to ask them about it!
There will be no school Monday, October 9th in observance of Italian Heritage Day/ Indigenous Peoples' Day.

On September 19, 2023, we had a historic moment occur at PS 115! The PS 115 School garden beds have been built with the help of Mr. Timothy and his partnership with the CASW program! Thank you to all the teachers, custodians, CASW staff, and students for giving a helping hand! We are so thankful for GrowNYC for making this possible through the grant we received. We can't wait to see this garden flourish🌱Stay tuned for more updates!
